God’s Blessing

God’s blessing includes wealth and health, but not only that. God’s blessing is far bigger than what people think about blessings.

God’s blessing starts at our hearts.

Psalm 1:1-2 “How blessed is the one who does not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand in the pathway with sinners, or sit in the assembly of scoffers! Instead he finds pleasure in obeying the LORD's commands; he meditates on his commands day and night.”

Most of us don’t like wickedness, but we often follow the way of some bad people are doing. Why? Because we love money or fun more than God. That’s why it is not easy to say NO there comes a temptation. It is only possible when you love God’s word and keep His commands. This type of life style doesn’t seem a blessing, but it is a blessing because God’s grace is upon him/her.  See the exclamation mark at the end of verse 1. That means, ‘Wow, what a blessing it is!’

As God’s blessing starts at our heart, it is not easy to distinguish at beginning the blessed person from others.

However, as time goes, the signs of God’s blessing become visible little by little in your life.

Psalm 1:3-4 “He is like a tree planted by flowing streams; it yields its fruit at the proper time, and its leaves never fall off. He succeeds in everything he attempts. Not so with the wicked! Instead they are like wind-driven chaff.”

When you love God, read Bible day and night, and keep it, you will have peace, joy, and good works in your life. Most of all, you will have security in your heart because God is the unceasing source of blessing and life. However, the wicked person’s life is restless looking for satisfaction from fun, money, success, or fame. These things surely satisfy our souls, but don’t last long.

God’s blessing that is started in your heart, which is invisible at first, like a mustard seed. As time goes, you can sense Joy, love, security in your life. Those are signs of God’s blessing.

And eventually God’s blessing will be revealed fully. When Jesus comes. It is the Eternal Life.

Psalm 1:5-6 “For this reason the wicked cannot withstand judgment, nor can sinners join the assembly of the godly. Certainly the LORD guards the way of the godly, but the way of the wicked ends in destruction.”

Good news for a thirst man is where to find a fountain. Good news for a dying man is how to get life. Blessing for us who are going to die is eternal life.

Do you want the eternal life more than anything else?

But God’s blessing is not something you can earn. You cannot get it even though you work so hard, coming to church. Does this disappoint you?

Because there is no way for us to earn God’s blessing, merciful God sent His Son to give us the eternal life to anyone who comes to Jesus.

Jesus answered to her, “If you had known the gift of God and who it is who said to you, ‘Give me some water to drink,’ you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water.” (John 4:10)

Many people in the world, they think they need to earn God’s favor and God’s blessing. Even eternal life. Do you know the promise of eternal life in Jesus? So Do you love Jesus? Then you are blessed.

The way of the Lord doesn’t seem to be a way of success. But it is the way of life. It doesn’t guarantee good title or good job or much money, but the far greater blessing, the eternal life.

This greatest blessing of God, the eternal life has started in your heart. Stay close with God, you can enjoy life that flows from God. And to the eternity.
